Walking!!!

It's official! Lilly is a walker. She can walk across the living room unassisted! And, she chooses to walk without us coaxing her. Yikes and yay at the same time! Things are about to get crazy at the Johnson house!

Blinded by the Light

We had a wonderful day today! We hung out at the house and played with Lilly. Then we all took a Baptist and went to Barnes and Nobles for coffee, books and dessert. Then target where Lilly got a new toy. And we ended the day at Red Lobster where I had lobster bisque and salad, Derek had lobster nachos and Lilly had banana mango baby food. Good day!

Gramma and Pawpaw

Mom and Tim came by for a short visit to see us...mostly Lilly. It was nice to see them and everyone had a good time.

Backyard Pool

I was lucky enough to get a little free time with my friend Amanda today. Derek and his mom shared Lilly duty for a few hours and I got yo drink sangria, eat fancy cheese and have a good gurly chat. It was fantastic! I think I might have even gotten a tan! Don't worry Mom and Dad, I did use sunscreen SPF 45.

Stacking Game

Derek not only likes to play this game with Lilly but also with Booshie. In reality he started doing it with Booshie long before Lilly ever existed. Booshie loves him so much that he just sits there and takes it.

In Need of a Backpack

Lilly can crawl, pull herself up to a standing position and travel along furniture now. The only problem is that she is often playing with a toy that she is not ready to leave behind. So, she just pops it in her mouth and away she goes. It's super funny looking depending on the item she couldn't part with. I thought this one was particularly funny because she looks a little like a bull with a nose ring.

First Day of Swimming Lessons

We had baby swim class today. It went well. It was mostly about getting acclimated to the water today. Hopefully we'll do more interesting things later this week. Isn't Lilly cute in her bonnet? I had one very similar to it when I was a baby.

Daddy Day

We had a lovely Father's Day. Derek opened his presents last night as soon as it was midnight. He's like a little kid in that way. It's cute. Lilly and I got him new cologne and some fun pictures of Lilly. This morning I made Derek breakfast then we took a family nap. This afternoon we ate Mexican food and drank coffee at Barnes & Nobles. After putting Lillian to bed we ended the day with a little wine and one of Derek's favorite movies "The Dark Knight". I had a nice day and I hope Derek did too.

Shopping

I went shopping today with Lilly and my friend Amanda. The mall had some crazy, awesome sales and Lilly and I both did rather well. She got quite a few new outfits from the Gap for when she's a little bigger and I got a few things too. I also bought myself a summery, coconut scent for the summer. Victoria's Secret was having a ridiculous sale and I just couldn't resist.

Something Blue

I got this nail polish from my Mom. She gets a bunch of free stuff from my stepdad's job because he works at the L'oreal plant. I took it thinking I might use it. I've had it for several months now and I finally decided to give it a go. This is very different for me but I think I like it okay. Derek likes it. At least it's summer and I can change it whenever I feel like since I have the free time. Otherwise I probably would've stuck with my usual pink or tan. Man, this is a boring post. Also a result of of being summer. There's only so much you have to talk about when you spend your entire day with a non-speaking baby.

Soooo Sleepy

She's been laying on my chest for over an hour. I tried to put her to sleep in her crib. That resulted in 15 minutes of a screaming Lilly and frazzled mommy. So, this is where we are. This can't become a habit.

Kitty Tail... I has It

Ok, so I was going through my photos on my phone and this is a little old but, I don't know why I didn't post it. Hilarious right?! The cats are actually very tolerant of her. However, they seem very disconcerted about the idea that she can move around unassisted now. I can't imagine why that would alarm them. (She said sarcastically.)

Lobster!

We finally got to eat at Red Lobster tonight. I've eaten at one before but this one's brand new and here in jonesboro. So, we went with Shelly and Chase. Chase actually picked out his own lobster. He picked the biggest one in the tank. It weighed 3 pounds.

It was an interesting experience because none of us had ever seen a whole lobster before. Nor had we tried lobster claws or legs. It's all tasty. Also, when you pick your own lobster you become a mini celebrity at Red Lobster. It was awesome! We've never had so many people come by to see how we're doing. It probably didn't hurt that we had an adorable baby Lilly with us too. Iylt was a fun night! Now I'm at home with a sleeping Lilly upstairs in her crib. Yay!

It has begun

Lilly is full-fledged crawling now. In this photo you can see her making a bee line to Booshie while he sits in horror ready to run the moment she gets too close. Oh, by the way, we are finally at our house after staying with Shelly since Monday. Yay! Home!

Baby Baricade

Since our air conditioner broke and we are staying at Shelly's house which is not babyproofed I have created a baby barricade. We brought the pack n' play but she doesn't really like being in it for very long. This works ok but we've ended up hanging out in the bed most of the day.

Eeet Broke...Again

Our air conditioner broke again so we stayed the night at my awesome friend Shelly's last night. The air people came today and said the part they need won't be in until Thursday or Friday! So yeah, Shelly is an AMAZING friend!

Presents from the kitties

I took this photo on Sunday. I woke up to find these items outside our bedroom door. The cats raided my sewing box and then brought me things. Btw, my sewing box is located upstairs. They literally carried these things in their mouths. Lol. I wasn't even mad but impressed.

I Made This

I sewed this little top for Lilly. I only had a tiny bit of help from Derek's grandma. Sh is also going to make little matching bloomers with a ruffled butt. They're gonna be sooo cute! Be prepared to see more tops like this one. They are super cute (the picture doesn't do it justice.) And they ate really easy. This one only took about 30 minutes and it was my first try so I know they'll get easier. Yay summer and free time!!!!
